An Application for a Class III Development Permit has been received for the lands locally known as 355 McNeely Avenue, located between Shoppers Drug Mart and Bean Motors. The property is designated Highway District. The proposed development involves the construction of a  962.27 square metre, 72 suite, Comfort Inn as the first phase of a two phased development. The second phase of the development will eventually include a 460 square metre restaurant in a second building on the same property.  Access will be gained via an existing entrance off of McNeely Avenue which will be shared by Shoppers Drug Mart.  There will be a second access point from Hopper Street.  The proposed development is seeking a site specific variance to increase the maximum building height of the Highway District from 11m to 13.5m.  Please see the Development Services - Planning Page for further details.  Comments can be made at this link and must be received by December 11, 2018.
