Description of Departmental Responsibilities:
To ensure compliance with the statutory and legal requirements of the Municipal Act as well as numerous other statutes and regulations found at the municipal level of government including:
- Division Registrar (registration of births and deaths)
- The issuance of marriage licences and the provision of civil wedding ceremonies
- Commissioner of Oaths
- The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
- Preparation of the Agenda of Council, the registration of delegations to Council and the recording of the Minutes of each meeting
- Returning Officer for each municipal election
- Emergency management within the community including the volunteer CERV program
- Chief lottery licensing officer
- Accessibility Plan
