Description of Departmental Responsibilities:
 
To ensure compliance with the statutory and legal requirements of the Municipal Act as well as numerous other statutes and regulations found at the municipal level of government including:
  • Division Registrar (registration of births and deaths)
  • The issuance of marriage licences and the provision of civil wedding ceremonies
  • Commissioner of Oaths
  • The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Preparation of the Agenda of Council, the registration of delegations to Council and the recording of the Minutes of each meeting
  • Returning Officer for each municipal election
  • Emergency management within the community including the volunteer CERV program
  • Chief lottery licensing officer
  • Accessibility Plan
