Background:
Born and raised in the valley, starting school at the Victoria Public School and graduating from the Almonte Technical High School in 1966.
Started my career as a Machinist Tool and Die maker in Carleton Place, before going on to work for the DND as a Project Officer, progressing to Sub Section Head and then Section Head managing Civilian and Military staff responsible for the Life Cycle Materiel Management; and the Procurement of Materiel with an annual procurement budget of $25 million.
Interests:
Currently, trying to finish my retirement home, having fun with my three grand-children, supporting the United Church as a Steward and Chair of the Official Board, and a Legion member as well as numerous Municipal/County Committees, working to better our community.
Community Vision:
As Deputy Mayor, I see many untapped resources within our community both in the skill levels of our people and our potential for growth. Advantages, which I personally feel place us in an excellent position to improve our community and to take on a leadership role in building an exceptional quality of life for our children and ourselves.
I know it will take a lot of effort to bring this vision to fruition and to make our town, "the town of first choice” based on sound fiscal policy, and valid research while taking everyone’s point of view into consideration; and, I am ready to devote myself full-time to ensuring that we can be the best that we can be as we go into the future.
