Description of Departmental Responsibilities:

The Ocean Wave Fire Company has served the Town proudly since 1875 and has always strived to maintain its reputation of one of the best equipped, best trained and efficient small departments in Eastern Ontario. To be able to say that you are or once were a member of the Ocean Wave is a badge of honour that many men in our community have carried with pride down through the years.

Today the OWFC operates from the Fire Station located at 15 Coleman St. and are led by Fire Chief Les Reynolds and Deputy Chief Rod Black. In addition to 24 dedicated volunteers, we have 2 full-time fire prevention officers on staff who are responsible for fire safety inspections of commercial buildings and rental properties, enforcement of the Ontario Fire Code and public education focussing on fire and life safety issues. The entire department is committed to ensuring that Carleton Place is a Fire Safe Community.

To find out more about the OWFC, arrange for a fire safety inspection for your home, receive fire prevention information or schedule fire extinguisher training for your group please call the department?s administration number 613-257-5526. Of course in cases of emergency always call 911.
