Ross has been a resident of the Carleton Place area for over sixty years. He retired in 2005 from a career in municipal government that spanned almost four decades. He has served as Recreationist, Road Superintendent, Planning Administrator, Treasurer, Clerk and Chief Administrative Officer and completed his municipal career as the Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk for the Township of Lanark Highlands. The experience he has gained in over 35 years in municipal government will be a major asset in working with council to make tough decisions.
Ross’s focus is to insure taxes are kept at an acceptable level for residents and to maintain current and future municipal programs. Working with local community groups such as the Chamber of Commerce and the BIA to attract new business/industries that will create new job opportunities and economic growth is a priority. This will help to stabilize the tax rate.
He pledges that he will work diligently with council and staff as a cohesive team, to insure that issues are thoroughly discussed in order to make informed decisions. His goal is to have more public input into the decision making process by hosting public meetings, workshops and open houses throughout the municipality.
