SUMMARY:Pat Moore and Pat MacLaughlin - Art House Music Concert
DESCRIPTION:Pat Moore and Pat McLaughlin are two Canadian musicians who frequently collaborate\, often performing together as a duo or with other musicians in the bluegrass and folk music scene. Pat McLaughlin plays guitar and provides vocal harmonies for Pat Moore\, who is a singer-songwriter.\nPat Moore’s voice has a warm and expressive quality\, as perfectly suited to a rich ballad\, as it is to an up-tempo power song.  She moves easily from the storytelling of the singer/songwriter genre\, to the lonesome sound of traditional country and bluegrass. Born and raised in Ottawa\, Ontario\, she grew up in a house filled with music\, from show tunes to Peter\, Paul\, & Mary\, and Gordon Lightfoot; and later jazz masters like Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles to bluegrass legends like Bill Monroe\, and Flatt and Scruggs. As a young girl she would sing harmonies with her sisters while doing the supper dishes – songs from the Momas and Papas\, and Simon and Garfunkel.\nThey are both associated with other musicians like Ann Downey and have performed at various Ontario festivals and venues\, such as the Ottawa Grassroots Festival. \n“Audiences delight in Pat Moore’s radiant stage presence and warm\,\nexpressive voice. She writes\, plays and sings from the heart\, delivering strong stories of life andlove we long to hear again… and again… and again!”\nChris White\, Host\, Canadian Spaces\, CKCU. &Founding Artistic Director\, Ottawa Folk Festival\n“Pat McLaughlin is one of the most tasteful and masterful guitar/mandolin B y : players you’ll hear- ever!” Everyone who’s Heard Him \nhttps://www.patmoore.net/

SUMMARY:Herbal Infused Oils Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever made a salve and thought you did a pretty good job – until you tried someone else’s and thought… how did they do that? Yours was good. Theirs was great. \nThis happened in my own kitchen. Multiple batches\, years of experimenting – moldy oils\, medicine I wasn’t sure even made it into the oil\, products that didn’t last. Sound familiar? I was frustrated. Curious. Where was I missing the mark? \nWhat hurt the most was the cost of learning. Plants I’d grown or foraged\, oils I’d sourced with care. They gave everything they had – and it felt like I wasn’t honouring them. \nEverything changed when I realized there was far more to preparing herbal infused oils than the pour and store method. Once I got into the details\, the nitty gritty\, my oils went from good to great. \nAnd I want to bring you along for that learning. \nSo you can prepare oils for salves\, lip balms\, body butters\, shampoos and more – that are potent\, shelf-stable\, and truly honour the plants and their medicine.\n_ \nThis workshop welcomes all skill levels and is ideal for anyone interested in making natural\, botanical-based herbal oils — whether for DIY skincare\, sensitive skin needs\, or simply to bring more plant-based goodness into their daily routine. Come learn\, create\, and connect with fellow makers!\n_ \nThis is Part One of a two-part series on preparing herbal infused oils. \nPart One sets the foundation for creating oils with dried plants. \nPart Two — coming this summer — ventures into fresh plants and resins. (Get on the waitlist here.) \nTo learn more and register https://honeybeehomestead.ca/herbal-oils

SUMMARY:Carleton Place Public Library Author Visit – Trudy Driscoll – Breaking Free After 50: Ditch Guilt\, Find Peace\, Rediscover You
DESCRIPTION:Local author Trudy Driscoll joins us on Saturday\, April 18th\, 2026\, at 2:00 p.m. for an exciting discussion about her book\, “BREAKING FREE AFTER 50: DITCH GUILT\, FIND PEACE\, REDISCOVER YOU\,” aimed at women who are experiencing lots of guilt as they age and want to discover new ways to counter this. She’ll leave plenty of time after her discussion for questions and thoughts\, so plan on staying for the full hour.  She’ll be selling signed copies of her book after the event for $20 each\, cash and or e-transfer only. \nDriscoll will also cover her writing journey\, offering interesting information about how to write a book\, what to do next\, and how to go about the self-publishing journey. If you have been wanting to write a book–especially a self-help book–she’ll share how to get started and tell you all about her own path to publication. \nPlease visit the registration portal and click RSVP to get on the list as spaces are limited. \nhttps://online.carletonplace.ca/event/author-trudy-driscoll-at-the-carleton-place-public-library
