Construction Update - November 1 2019

With the temperatures dropping and the potential for snowflakes to start to fall, our construction areas are expected to be busy in the days ahead with everyone’s intention of completing construction before the winter weather arrives.  The Town of Carleton Place together with AECON would like to inform residents of the following activities planned for the upcoming week:

High Street

AECON’s crews have now completed the replacement of concrete sidewalks and grading throughout the construction area and will be installing the asphalt base.  After the asphalt base has been paved, crews will be adjusting iron structures in preparation for the top lift of asphalt.

Antrim Street & Queen Street South (Mary St. to Nelson St. E.)

New concrete curbs and sidewalks will be installed.  Once concrete activities are completed, crews will grade the granular material and install the base lift of asphalt.  After the asphalt base is completed, crews will adjust the iron structures in preparation for the top lift of asphalt.

Queen Street South (Coleman Street to Mary Street), Henry Street & Mary Street

AECON’s crews will be completing some concrete repairs on these streets.  Once the concrete repairs are completed, crews will grade the granular material and install the base lift of asphalt.  After the asphalt base is completed, crews will adjust the iron structures in preparation for the top lift of asphalt.

Residents will continue to be informed in writing by AECON when access to driveways will be limited.

AECON and the Town of Carleton Place request your assistance in ensuring safe and efficient work zones.  However, should residents be travelling within the construction zones, we urge you to proceed with caution and follow the directions provided by the Traffic Control persons and posted construction signage.

If a resident has any questions or concerns regarding these activities, please call (613) 257-2253.
