Construction Update - October 22, 2020

The Town of Carleton Place would like to advise our residents of the following activities for the coming week, however, the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, changes in the provision of materials and/or availability of staff.

Bridge Street at Townline Road - Public Works is pleased to announce the work on the Bridge Street forcemain is complete and Bridge Street will be open to traffic starting October 23rd.  Crews will return to the Bridge Street Pumping Station in the spring to complete upgrades to the actual Pumping Station.

High Street and Patterson Crescent - Weather pending, landscaping crews will begin laying sod in areas that were disturbed during the construction process.

Bell Street - Enbridge will be continuing with their gas main relocation activities on Bell Street between St. Paul Street and Edmund Street for the next two weeks.  This work is being done in preparation for the 2021 construction season.  Motorists should be aware that Bell Street will be available for local traffic only.

The Town of Carleton Place would like to ask for everyone’s help in ensuring safe and efficient work zones.  We would like to encourage residents to avoid the construction zones, however, should residents be travelling within the construction zones we urge you to proceed with caution and follow the directions provided by the Traffic Control persons and posted construction signage.

We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during the construction season, however, should a member of the public have any concerns or questions of a general nature, please contact the Public Works Office at 613-257-2253.
