Construction Update - March 31st, 2021

Construction Update - March 31st, 2021 - The Public Works Department strives to keep our residents informed regarding ongoing municipal construction activities. We would like to advise our residents of the following activities for the days and weeks ahead, however, the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, changes in the provision of materials and/or availability of staff:

McArthur Island Watermain Crossing (Previously referred to as the Mill St. Watermain Crossing)

Louis Bray has made significant progress excavating rock along Rosamond Street this past week for the installation of pipes for the new watermain crossing. Crews will continue with watermain installation for the coming days as they work towards the Gillies Bridge.

We are asking residents to help ensure safe and efficient work zones for construction crews; therefore, Louis Bray and the Carleton Place Public Works Department are asking residents to not drive around the posted signage indicating the street(s) is closed. We would like to encourage residents to avoid the construction zones by following the detour signage in place.

We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during the construction season, however, should a member of the public have any concerns or questions of a general nature, please contact the Public Works Office at 613-257-2253.
