Central Bridge Construction Update - July 28th, 2022

Bridge Street Revitalization

The Town of Carleton is pleased to announce the labour disruption with the concrete crews affiliated with NCRBA is now over.  This means concrete crews will be returning to Bridge Street to start pouring the new sidewalks on the west side of Bridge Street starting at Lake Avenue and will be working their way northwards until the west side is complete.

Louis Bray’s electrical contractor will be installing the underground conduit for the new streetlights on the east side of Bridge Street beginning at Lake Avenue. Louis Bray will have staff on-site during these operations to provide assistance to pedestrians accessing businesses in the area.

Central Bridge Replacement

Louis Bray’s crews will be continuing with preparations for the new bridge deck.  Crews are creating the forms and have been installing an endless amount of rebar.  If the weather cooperates over the next few weeks, Louis Bray is anticipating the new concrete bridge deck will be poured the week of August 15th.

Morris Street, Arthur Street & Moffatt Street

Cavanagh Construction will be grinding and reinstating cracks with new asphalt.  Concrete crews will also be on-site to complete the remaining areas of concrete.

Emily Street

Cavanagh Construction will be completing the excavation and removal of sidewalks in the coming days and concrete crews will begin installing new curbs and sidewalks.
