The Town of Carleton Place Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather conditions and supply of materials have the potential to impact construction schedules and objectives for the week ahead. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Bridge Street Revitalization
Recent rainy weather has impacted some of our planned activities for this week. Louis Bray has provided the Town with an updated schedule which will see the final lift of asphalt installed next week. Please note the Public Works Department will issue notice through our social media, website, and CP Scoop when specific dates are confirmed as Bridge Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic when paving operations are underway.
There is a possibility that work on the raised planters and streetlights could also occur, but paving operations will take priority, and all other components will be completed around the paving schedule.
Central Bridge Replacement
Unfortunately, the wet weather conditions have also delayed the concrete pour for the sidewalks and decorative arches on the bridge until next week. Residents should be aware that when the concrete pour for the new sidewalks and decorative arches occurs, there will be several vehicles delivering concrete as it must be a continuous pour. Concrete vehicles will access the bridge from both sides of the river and traffic control personnel will be in place.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of our projects, please call (613) 257-2253.
