Bridge Street Closed for Paving Next Monday and Tuesday

The Public Works Department would like to advise the Public that on Monday, October 24th commencing at 7:00 a.m., Bridge Street from Lake Avenue to the Central Bridge will be closed for paving operations.

This closure will be to facilitate the application of top lift asphalt on Bridge Street (including the parking bays).  Unfortunately, this closure will include no access to any parking lots from Bridge Street.  Access to municipal parking lots will be available from Beckwith Street and Victoria Street.   Louis Bray Construction and Cavanagh Construction will be starting operations at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning.  Residents living within the construction zone are asked to please relocate their vehicles off Bridge Street prior to 6:00 a.m. Monday morning. The Public Works Department would like to remind all our residents that they can still access our downtown businesses as sidewalks will remain available.

Bridge Street will reopen to traffic and parking the evening of Tuesday, October 25th. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we complete this portion of the project.

Monday, October 24th is the final municipal election voting day.  If required, assistance with electronic/telephone voting is being provided at the Town Hall.  If you wish to avoid the construction ongoing on Bridge Street, please consider voting at one of the other voter help centres located at the Arena or Library.
