Construction Update – May 18th, 2023

The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:

Carleton Place Arena Parking Lot (75 Neelin St)

Cavanagh Construction Ltd. is making progress and will be replacing granular materials and completing the final grading in the days ahead. Crews will also be installing the new concrete curbs and sidewalk before paving the entire site next week.

Joseph Street Pumping Station

Work has continued at the Joseph Street Pumping Station with the removal of the existing building in preparation for the construction of the new control building, the generator pad, and the gas meter pad.

Bridge St. Landscape Features

Louis Bray’s staff will continue preparing bases for the raised planters.

Barclay Street & Barker Street

Residents will be pleased to know crews will be paving both streets next week.

Ferrill Crescent and Mailey Drive

Cavanagh’s staff will be completing the grading operations and once completed, paving crews will arrive on site to pave the two lifts of asphalt.

Coleman Street

Residents may experience minor traffic delays next week as Cavanagh will be returning to Coleman Street to complete the top lift of asphalt.

Campbell Street

Cavanagh will be mobilizing next week to begin excavating the existing asphalt.
