The Town of Carleton Place Public Works Department strives to keep our residents informed of all our construction activities however, schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, changes in the provision of materials and/or availability of staff.
Bridge Street Reconstruction
Unfortunately, the labour disruption with concrete crews affiliated with NCRBA remains ongoing. Louis Bray and Town staff are meeting daily to monitor the progress on Bridge Street and to find ways to pivot and keep our project moving forward.
With the work stoppage continuing to impact the ability to install the concrete sidewalks, Louis Bray will be initiating the placement of stone dust and grading to make a safe temporary pedestrian route on the west side of Bridge St., commencing at Lake Ave. and moving northward to College St. Once this work is completed, crews will begin to remove the concrete sidewalk and curb on the east side of Bridge St., again commencing at Lake Ave. and moving northward. The intent of this undertaking is to have as much work as possible prepared for concrete crews upon their return to work and minimize scheduling impacts from the work stoppage as much as possible.
Central Bridge Replacement
Work on the Central Bridge is progressing well with formwork for the future bridge deck well underway.
Road excavation activities and sidewalk removals will remain ongoing throughout next week.
Arthur Street, Morris Street (Dunham St to Mississippi Road & Napoleon St. to Graham St.)
