Construction Update – August 18th, 2022

Central Bridge Replacement

The Town of Carleton is pleased to announce the concrete deck pour was successfully completed yesterday despite being a long day for everyone involved. It took approximately 40 truckloads of concrete over 12 hours to pour the entire bridge deck. Next week the crews will be dismantling the forms and removing the cofferdams.

Bridge Street Revitalization

Electrical crews will continue working along the entire east side of Bridge Street installing the underground ducts for the new streetlights. Louis Bray’s crews will be working on the bases for the raised planters throughout the Bridge Street corridor.

Morris Street & Arthur Street

Cavanagh Construction and their crews will be adjusting manholes, catch basins, and water valves in preparation for paving the top lift asphalt.

Emily Street

Crews are preparing the granular materials for paving the base lift asphalt next week.

Lake Avenue East

Next week the Carleton Place Public Works Department will be conducting road maintenance activities on Lake Avenue East between Argyle Street and Queen Street. Traffic Control operations will be in place and residents should expect minor delays.
