The Town of Carleton Place Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather conditions have the potential to impact construction schedules and objectives. Activities anticipated for next week include the following:
Bridge Street Revitalization
Despite the rain, Louis Bray and their crews have made significant strides this past week. Next week the electrical crews will be completing the underground installation of streetlight conduits, and it is anticipated that concrete crews will be returning to Bridge Street to begin the installation of the concrete curbs on the east side of Bridge Street. It should be noted that during the preparation, pouring and curing of concrete on the east side of Bridge Street, on-street parking will be impacted. Every effort will be made to have parking reinstated as quickly as possible though this work on the east side of Bridge Street will necessitate the closing of on-street parking for extended timeframes. Motorists intending to get access to businesses will be directed to Municipal Parking Lots or adjacent streets during these timeframes.
Central Bridge Replacement
Louis Bray is continuing their work on the Central Bridge with the removal of forms from last week’s bridge deck concrete pour, cofferdam removals and commencing the construction of access platforms to begin the forming of the bridge arches.
Lyndhurst Street, Moffatt Street, & Munro Street
Cavanagh Construction will be applying the final top lift of asphalt in the coming days.
Weather depending, crews will be reinstating asphalt driveways on Emily Street subsequent to the above-noted works on Lyndhurst, Moffatt and Munro.
