2021 Colouring Contest

Each October the Town of Carleton Place has recognized Waste Reduction Week.  This year, Waste Reduction Week is celebrating its 20th Anniversary from October 18th to 24th.  This year we are offering a contest with three prizes of $100 in BIA Bucks that can be used in any of our downtown stores.  Our residents can participate in the following categories:

Option 1

Colouring Contest (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2) – Students can colour and submit the colouring page.  Colouring pages can also be collected from the Granary located at 107 Bridge Street.

Option 2

Art/Craft Contest (Grades 1 to 12) – Students can explore their creativity and develop their own poster or sculpture using recycled materials currently accepted in our blue & yellow recycling bins.  Items cannot exceed 50cmx50cmx50cm and must contain 75% recycled material.   Bonus points will be awarded if it includes a food or beverage carton.

Option 3

Visual Art Contest (All Ages) – Students of all ages can use photography, graphic arts, or make a short video that demonstrates the importance of recycling.

The winners will be selected by a few members of Council and will be announced at a Council meeting in October.

The deadline for entries is October 14th at 2:00 p.m.  Entries can be dropped off at the Town Hall located at 175 Bridge Street.  Please note - entries will not be returned to you.
