Bridge Street On-Street Parking Restrictions to Facilitate Asphalt

The Town of Carleton Place Public Works Department would like to advise residents we have now reached the most critical part of the revitalization of Bridge Street.  Under the direction of Louis W. Bray Construction, Thomas Cavanagh Construction will be moving onto Bridge Street tomorrow to begin preparing the granular base on Bridge Street for base course asphalt later next week. Sidewalk work also continues on the east side of Bridge Street.  For all contractors to work as safely and efficiently as possible, on-street parking on Bridge Street will not be permitted until after the base course asphalt is complete (including this upcoming weekend).  Vehicular access to Bridge Street will be limited to residents accessing private driveways and deliveries to businesses without rear access.  Pedestrian access will be maintained.

We understand these next few days will be difficult and we are encouraging residents to utilize the on-street parking and municipal parking lots located on Beckwith Street and Victoria Street. Should anyone have any concerns, please contact the Public Works office at 613-257-2253.
