Arena Construction Update - February 5, 2021

Image of exterior renovation of arenaAll exterior masonry works were completed on the addition during the first two (2) weeks of January.  All interior masonry was completed last week.  The glass block installations for the changerooms to add natural light were completed this week.  The masonry crew will be demobilizing from the site next week.

The electrical rough-in is currently underway in the addition as is the fire alarm work in both the addition and existing building.  Light fixture infrastructure commenced last week.

Plumbing rough-in work is continuing throughout the addition and should be completed by February 19th, 2021. 

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) rough-in is progressing as scheduled and work on the 2nd storey office areas will commence next week.  The Roof-Top Units (RTUs) arrived on site on February 4th and are currently being installed.  Gas piping installation will commence next week.

Structural steel and roofing works are now substantially completed, and the contractors have demobilized from the site.

Interior framing work commenced this week.

The first major demolition phase of tying the addition into the existing building was completed during the past two (2) weeks.

The following works are scheduled to commence:

  • Fire protection (sprinklers) – February 15th, 2021
  • Painting in the 2nd floor offices – March 1st, 2021
  • Flooring in the 2nd floor offices – March 8th, 2021
  • Millwork to be installed – during the week of March 8th to 12th, 2021
  • Miscellaneous finishes -week of March 22nd to 26th, 2021
