Building Permit Fees - Notice of Public Meeting

Public Meeting Notice – Building Permit Fees - The Corporation of the Town of Carleton Place is proposing a change to the Building Permit Fee Schedule.  This change will alter the way Building Permits Fees are formulated.  The primary reasons for the proposed changes are to increase efficiencies within the Department for permit processing, to utilize flat fees for simplified issuance of permits and identification of permit costs for the public. As per Section 7(1)(c) in the Building Code Act, a public meeting will be held to discuss the proposed fee adjustments and provide a rationale for the changes.

The building permit fee review report identifying the request to adjust the fee calculations as well as the new fee schedule can be viewed electronically on the Town’s website.

Hard copies of the report and fee schedule can be obtained by emailing Len Smith, Chief Building Official at cbo@carletonplace.ca, by calling 613 257 6214 or in person at the Town Hall Reception Desk located at 175 Bridge Street, Carleton Place ON, K7C 2V8.

Interested parties are invited to attend the virtual public meeting via Zoom to provide feedback. Persons wishing to comment at the public meeting are required to notify the Town Clerk, Stacey Blair, by email at sblair@carletonplace.ca no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 to obtain a link to the Zoom meeting.  In addition, comments can be provided in writing by contacting the Town Clerk by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
