The Corporation of the Town of Carleton Place is pleased to announce that we have received $1,139,704.00 in funding from the Ontario Government under Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) Formula-Based Component Funding stream which supports economic growth and job creation.
OCIF provides funding to eligible communities every year to help them renew and rehabilitate critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and water and wastewater projects. Funding allocations are based on a formula that recognizes the different needs and economic conditions of communities.
“The Province’s recent funding announcement to the Town of $1,139,704 was a welcome surprise,” says Toby Randell, Mayor of Carleton Place. “This funding will be used to maintain the Town’s road infrastructure and means the municipality can reduce its need for debt to pay for these works”.
“Ontario’s small, rural and northern communities are essential to the growth and prosperity of the province,” said Kinga Surma, Minister of Infrastructure. “As part of our plan to build Ontario, our government is continuing to provide stable funding to meet local infrastructure needs and provide support in response to pressures from inflation. By supporting key community infrastructure projects, we are helping communities attract jobs and build local capacity to grow and thrive for generations to come.”
