Changes to Waste Collection - January 1st, 2021

Please Note: Additional Bag of Waste Extended to January 31st, 2021 – Due to the announcement of the Provincewide COVID-19 shutdown, Council has made the decision to extend the allowance of two (2) unstickered bags of waste per week, per household to January 31st, 2021. Any additional bags will require a sticker. Residents can continue to use previously issued green stickers.


𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝐬𝐭, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - During the Provincial State of Emergency in regard to COVID-19 instituted in March, and with so many residents suddenly having to work from home and caring for children no longer in school or daycare, Council provided residents with the option of an additional unstickered bag of waste each week in an effort to ease some of the challenges at home. However, effective January 1st, 2021 the following changes will come into effect:

• 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫.

• Stickers can be purchased at the Town Hall or at Shoppers Drugmart located on McNeely Ave.

• The cost of garbage stickers will be increasing from $2.00 to $3.00 per sticker.

Residents can continue to use the older green stickers
