The Town of Carleton Place would like to announce that Thomas Cavanagh Construction has been awarded the contract for the 2020 construction program. Crews will be installing construction signage in the affected areas and work is anticipated to begin on Patterson Crescent early next week.
Residents impacted by construction should have received letters from Cavanagh providing contact information and information about the activity occurring on their street. The Town is also requesting that residents mark their waste bins with their address as periodically crews may need to relocate waste bins to an area accessible for waste collection trucks and we would like to ensure everyone gets their own bins returned. This would assist Cavanagh’s crews greatly.
Crews will be mobilizing onto Patterson Crescent early next week. Crews will begin the process of removing and replacing portions of the concrete sidewalks and curbs where required. Crews will also be installing a new catchbasin and storm lead in the vicinity of the Curling Club. If time and weather conditions permit, crews will start removing the existing asphalt in preparation for replacement.
No activity is scheduled for High Street next week.
Together, Thomas Cavanagh Construction and the Town of Carleton Place would like to ask for everyone’s help in ensuring safe and efficient work zones. We would like to encourage residents to avoid the construction zones, however, should residents be travelling within the construction zones we urge you to proceed with caution and follow the directions provided by the Traffic Control persons and posted construction signage.
We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during the construction season, however, should a member of the public have any concerns or questions in general nature, please contact the Public Works Office 613-257-2253.
