What's New
The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Coleman Street
The Town of Carleton Place recognizes the importance and volume of traffic that utilize Coleman Street to navigate through our community, therefore crews are working quickly to complete grinding operations and place base course asphalt this week. Next week crews will be adjusting manhole and catch basin lids in preparation for top lift asphalt the week of May 23rd to 26th.
Bridge Street Landscape Features
Louis Bray Construction will be returning to Bridge Street to begin installing the forms and pouring concrete for the new planter bases. Although this work will be conducted off the travelled portion of the roadway, there will be short-term interruptions of vehicular traffic to safely allow for movement of material and equipment. In addition, isolated sections of sidewalk may be closed to facilitate this work in specified areas.
Carleton Place Arena Parking Lot (75 Neelin Street)
Cavanagh Construction will continue the process of reconstructing the Arena parking lot. Sidewalk removals and replacement will start next week.
Barclay Street and Barker Street
Cavanagh Construction will be adjusting manhole and catch basin lids in preparation for asphalt paving next week.
Joseph Street Pumping Station
Work continues at the Joseph Street Pumping Station with the installation of the by-pass pumping units and the disconnection of the electrical supply to the existing building. Demolition of the existing building will begin over the next week.
Ferrill Crescent and Mailey Drive
Cavanagh Construction will be completing the replacement of damaged sidewalk panels this week and will begin street grinding operations next week.
