The Town of Carleton Place Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather conditions and supply of materials have the potential to impact construction schedules and objectives for the week ahead. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Bridge Street Revitalization
The Public Works Department and Louis Bray Construction would like to remind all affected users of Bridge Street that although significant progress has been made, we are still under construction and there are various construction activities yet to be completed. Please be mindful of construction signage and workers that are trying to complete our project and maintain everyone’s safety within the construction corridor.
Electrical crews are tentatively scheduled to begin the installation of the new streetlight fixtures next week. It is anticipated the week of October 17th will be a very busy week again with final paving operations planned and landscaping crews onsite to commence the construction of raised planters along with all other landscape components of the project.
Central Bridge Replacement
The formwork and rebar installation activities are nearing completion for the decorative arches on both sides of the bridge. Additionally, crews are planning to start the installation of the large watermain and telecommunication contractors will be no site working on the reinstatement of Bell and Rogers infrastructure.
Bridge Street (Townline Road to Mailey Drive)
Wednesday, October 12th (8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) – Road Closure
The Carleton Place Public Works Department will be undertaking repairs to Bridge Street between Townline Road and Mailey Drive. Drivers will need to plan alternative routes to access Carambeck Community Centre and the Carleton Place Pool during the road closure.
The Public Works Department would also like to advise residents that in the coming weeks, we will be working with our concrete contractor to make various local repairs to sidewalks throughout Town.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of our projects, please call (613) 257-2253.
