Construction Update - September 8th, 2022

The Town of Carleton Place Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather conditions can potentially impact construction schedules and objectives for the week ahead.  Activities anticipated for the week ahead include the following:

Bridge Street Revitalization
Now that concrete curbs have been installed, the raised planter bases and concrete sidewalk installation on the east side of Bridge Street will be commencing. Asphalt removals are underway and are likely to continue into next week. Louis Bray staff will be reinstating as much on-street parking as possible for the weekend, but with multiple operations happening during the work week, it is anticipated that on-street parking will once again be limited through next week.

Louis Bray staff will also be working in conjunction with the concrete crews to provide temporary ramps to businesses as quickly as possible as sidewalks get poured.

Louis Bray and the Town of Carleton Place acknowledge and understand this recent phase of the project has been difficult for residents and businesses alike.  We truly appreciate your cooperation, patience and understanding as we complete this critical stage of the Bridge Street Project.

Central Bridge Replacement
The installation of the Doka system has been completed on the east side of the bridge and crews have started the forming work for the construction of the new decorative arches.  The construction of the decorative arches on both sides of the bridge will take several weeks to complete.

Emily Street, Morris Street, Arthur Street, Lyndhurst Street, Munro Street, Moffatt Street
The final step in this year’s construction program will be the return of the landscaping crews in the coming weeks to repair the remaining areas behind new curbs and sidewalks that were damaged during this year’s construction activities.  The Town of Carleton Place would like to express our appreciation to Cavanagh Construction Ltd. for all their dedication and hard work throughout this year’s road construction projects.
