Covid-19 - Outbreak at Stoneridge Manor

A Message from Mayor Doug Black,

I was notified earlier today about the current situation at Stoneridge Manor in Carleton Place. 28 residents and 18 staff have tested positive for Covid-19. I reached out immediately to see if the municipality could be of any assistance. At this time we have been advised that they have everything they require including personal protective equipment. My thoughts are with the residents and staff who are affected as well as their families.

I want to thank all front-line workers who are working tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our community.

I understand that this news could cause anxiety, but we have been assured by the staff at Stoneridge Manor that everything that can be done is being done to address the situation.

This unfortunate news hits very close to home and reinforces the need for us all to be vigilant. We must follow the guidelines of our medical professionals. Wash your hands. Stay home and practice social distancing if you do have to go out.

Best of health to everyone.

Sincerely,

Mayor Doug Black
