Health Canada is advising the public to use caution when considering the use of homemade masks to protect against the transmission of COVID-19.
PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT UPDATES
People who are being charged with an offence under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA) will be required to identify themselves if asked by a provincial offences officer, which includes police officers, First Nations constables, special constables and municipal by-law enforcement officers. Failing to correctly identify oneself could result in fines.
LEEDS, GRENVILLE, LANARK DISTRICT HEALTH UNIT UPDATES
The Health Unit has issued a media advisory that two older people, a man and a woman, with underlying health problems living in the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark area have died from infection with COVID-19. The man was living at the Almonte Country Haven Home, and the woman was living at home and died at the Queensway Carleton hospital.
The Health Unit is asking the public to follow the Provincial order to avoid gatherings of more than 5 (five) people. The are some strict exceptions and the order does not apply to private households with more than five people living in the same home.
The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit has expanded capacity for incoming enquiries. The General COVID-19 Enquiries line is – 613-283-2740 Ext. 2499, available weekdays, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on weekends from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

- The library is continuing to sign up residents for library cards via email. New card registrations, expired accounts, or lost PINs or card numbers can be resolved by emailing the library at firstname.lastname@example.org

The first video shows library users how to use the Libby app to access eBooks and eAudiobooks. Starting with how to download an app from the App Store, this is the perfect video for users who have never downloaded an eBook before. The videos can be accessed on our Facebook page

Carleton Place Childcare Services
Yesterday, Premier Doug Ford announced, on the advice of our Chief Medical Officer of Health and other leading public health officials, the extension of the declaration of emergency across the province and the continued closure of licensed childcare centres, and all facilities providing indoor recreational programs. The order will remain in place until April 13, 2020, at which point it will be reassessed and considered for extension.
