Carleton Place Public Library - The Ontario government has included public libraries in their list of services ready to move on to Phase 2 of their reopening plan. This stage will allow patrons to enter the building for contactless pickup and computer use but prohibits access to the stacks for the browsing of materials.
Staff at the library are excited to begin this phase and we are busy planning for what this will look like at our library. We are working diligently to provide a safe environment for both our staff and patrons, and that includes having many measures in place in our building that will allow us to do so. We will announce a "re-open" date as soon as we are confident that we have everything in place to do so safely.
In the meantime, please take advantage of our curbside service. Place your holds online or give us a call at 613-257-2702 to reserve books, movies, special book bags for kids, or puzzles, and we'll arrange a pickup time with you at our front door. All returned items are being safely quarantined for 72 hours before going back out and we are practising social distancing measures and proper cleaning procedures to ensure that everything that leaves our building is as safe as possible.
Carleton Place Recreation and Culture Department - The Ontario government has allowed for many recreational & cultural amenities to open as part of the Phase 2 reopening plan. Beaches, splash pads, and pools are among the many amenities listed as safe to reopen starting June 12, 2020.
We are working with the local Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit to ensure we meet all of the necessary guidelines and have the appropriate procedures in place in order to re-open our spaces and amenities safely.
Over the next few weeks we will be gradually re-opening locations once proper signage and appropriate crowd control measures have been implemented. Staff will continue to monitor these spaces and amenities to ensure residents are aware of the safety features in place and that users are following the appropriate physical distancing guidelines.
Please watch for updates on the Town of Carleton Place Facebook Page as well as in the CP Scoop e-newsletter.
We are very excited for the next phase and look forward to having our residents enjoying more of our recreation & cultural amenities soon.
