Covid-19 - Update #86

MUNICIPAL UPDATES

Recreation & Culture Department - We were saddened to see that the barricades and tape were removed from the playground equipment at Riverside Park over the weekend. We would like to remind all residents that under Provincial Order, all playground equipment remains closed. Removal of barricades is prohibited and use of playground equipment could result in the issuance of a Provincial Offence Notice.

 

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT UPDATES

Canada Day 2020 Celebration Plans Unveiled - Today, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Heritage, unveiled the program for Canada Day. On July 1, Canadians from coast to coast to coast are invited to take part in an array of virtual celebrations to express our national pride.

National Public Service Week - Prime Minister Trudeau issued a statement for National Public Service Week which runs from June 14 to 20, 2020.

 

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT UPDATES

Ontario Marks World Elder Abuse Awareness Day - Today, Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, issued the following statement to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day: "As we pause to observe World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, I encourage everyone to reflect on what we can do together to protect Ontario's seniors from physical and emotional abuse. The health, safety and well-being of Ontario's seniors is of the utmost importance to our government, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak.

More Regions of the Province Moving to Phase 2 Reopening - More people will be able to get back to work as additional businesses and services in certain regions across Ontario can begin reopening this Friday. The Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and local medical officers of health, is enabling more regions of the province to enter Stage 2 of the government's reopening framework.
