Library Now Offering Curbside Pickup

Curbside Pickup Now Available by appointment!

Here is how it works:

If you are sick, please do not drop off or pickup materials. Stay home and we will see you when you feel better. No fines will be charged for late returns during the summer of 2020.

Place your order:

a. By phone - call 613-257-2702

b. By email - email library@carletonplace.ca

c. Online - place a hold on the website

Wait for your notification that your materials are ready for pickup. If you do not have SMS text or email notifications enabled, you will receive a call from library staff.When you receive your notification, contact the library to schedule your pickup time slot.

Pickup Times:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 10:30 a.m to 12:30 pm and 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m

Wednesday: 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m and 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m

When you arrive at the library to pick up your materials, call 613-257-2702 to let staff know you have arrived. Or, call the library (613-257-2702) before you leave for the library. Staff will bring your item outside the doors. Once the staff member has returned to the building you may collect your package. Please do not approach the doors of the library or the staff member while they are out of the building.

If you have mobility issues, please let us know when you arrive and staff will place the package in your trunk for you. Please have your trunk open before the staff member leaves the building. Staff are prohibited from closing your trunk.

Material returns can be placed into the blue book return bin.

Holds are fulfilled in the order that they are placed and as the items become available.

Items on hold for pickup will be held for 5 days. If you are unable to collect your items during that time they will be placed into quarantine for 72 hours and then returned to the circulating collection.

There are no new limits on the number of materials that you may request at one time. However, due to an anticipated high level of interest, we request that you only place on hold the items that you need.

The existing limits of 4 DVDs per household and 50 books per patron remain valid.

Items available for order include books, DVDs, Audiobooks, Magazines, and puzzles from the library Puzzle Exchange. The library will not be able to accept returned puzzles.

The 2-hour pickup time slots have a limit of 20 patrons. Due to an anticipated high level of demand in this service, there is no guarantee that you will be scheduled for the closest time slot.

You may request a pickup time slot no earlier than 5 days in advance. If you wish to reschedule your pickup time slot please contact the library as soon as possible to notify staff and reschedule your pickup.

You may cancel your pickup at any time by contacting the library directly via phone (613-257-2702) or email (library@carletonplace.ca).

Now Accepting Returns
The Library is now accepting material returns.  With over 4000 items currently checked out, the library is implementing a staggered return procedure based on patron last name to help mitigate an overflow of materials. All items currently checked out have had their due dates extended to July 1st.

Patrons with last names beginning with letters “A” through “G”  -  May 21st – 25th
Patrons with last names beginning with letters “H” through “P” -  May 26th – 31st
Patrons with last names beginning with “Q” – “Z”  -  June 1st – 4th

All returned library materials will be quarantined for 72 hours before returning to the library collection.
