Employment Opportunities

The Town of Carleton Place is seeking an individual to fill the three (3) month contract position of Dishwasher with our Childcare Services department.

Summary: 

The Dishwasher works under the direction of the Cook. The Dishwasher follows directions and completes all required duties associated with the kitchen, classroom, and basic housekeeping/laundry responsibilities.

Qualification/Experience:

  1. Completed Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  2. Minimum one year experience; experience in childcare or institutional setting would be considered an asset.
  3. Must be willing to obtain and maintain CPR-C/AED and standard first aid certification.
  4. Must be willing to obtain and maintain Anaphylaxis training, and
  5. Vulnerable Sector Check (valid to six (6) months of employment).

The 2024 pay grid for the position is $17.56 - $22.33 per hour, based on a 25-hour work week.

The Town of Carleton Place is seeking an individual to fill the full-time position of Property Maintenance Cleaner for our Childcare Services department.

Summary: 

Reporting to the Property Maintenance Team Lead, the Full Time Cleaner performs a wide range of duties maintaining the cleanliness, security, and safety of the Childcare Centre. The Full Time Cleaner will demonstrate safe working practices while leading and directing cleaning operations and comply with all safety regulations and Ministry guidelines. The Full Time Cleaner is accountable for part time cleaning staff.

Qualification/Experience:

  1. Completed Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum two (2) years’ supervisory experience in a commercial cleaning environment; experience in childcare would be considered an asset
  3. Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class “G” driver's license and reliable vehicle to use for corporate business, when required
  4. Must be willing to obtain and maintain CPR-C/AED and standard first aid certification
  5. Must be willing to obtain and maintain Anaphylaxis training
  6. Custodial Services or Property Management training considered an asset, and
  7. Vulnerable Sector Check (valid to six (6) months of employment).

The 2024 pay grid for the position is $20.91 - $26.63 based on a 40-hour work week. In addition, a comprehensive benefit package with 100% employer-paid premiums for health, dental, life, short/long term disability is provided plus a pension plan with matching employer contribution.

Ontario Helping Non-Profits Deliver Important Community Services - $26 million supporting 251 local programs and services Ontarians rely on most

Today, the Ontario government announced more than $26 million in grant funding this year to support 251 local projects at non-profit organizations across the province through the seventh and final round of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Resilient Communities Fund.


Ontario Investing Nearly $1.3 Billion to Stabilize Colleges and Universities - Province maintaining tuition fee freeze to keep costs down for students and parents

Today, the Ontario government introduced a suite of measures to stabilize the province’s colleges and universities, including nearly $1.3 billion in new funding, while maintaining the tuition fee freeze to keep costs down for Ontario students and parents. The province is also introducing legislation that would, if passed, support student mental health, safe and inclusive campuses and allow for increased transparency of fees. This suite of measures also includes initiatives that will help connect students to rewarding careers to help build Ontario’s skilled workforce.
