MAJOR DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL
UPDATE - MAY 15TH
May 15th, 2013 - Issues Need to be Resolved
The Town was pleased when a local group of landowners and entrepreneurs, led by Volunder Thorbjornsson, approached the Town offering to purchase municipal property and undertake significant commercial and residential development in the Downtown area. This was an exciting proposal that, if implemented, would result in significant new development on the properties owned by the Town as well as major redevelopment of a number of privately owned properties.
The offer, submitted on April 21st, 2013, included a number of conditions

The Carleton Place Environmental Advisory Committee (CPEAC)
is holding its 3rd Annual Freecycle Exchange Day.
Carleton Place residents can place their freecycle items out
at the curb for others to pick up. Items can be placed on the curb on Friday,
May 31st but must be brought in (if not taken) by Sunday, June, 2md.
Please ensure that only items that you wish to recycle are
left near the curb.
Please beware of children’s safety; do not place items out
that might have potential danger (i.e., refrigerators, freezers
