Construction Update - June 15, 2018 Carambeck Community Centre Concrete curbs and sidewalks will be installed this week and then Cavanagh Construction crews will be completing the fine grading of the granular material in preparation for asphalt. Roe Street Development & Forcemain Expansion Cavanagh Construction will continue with hoe-ramming activities along Hooper Street and will continue to lay pipe for the new 350mm sanitary forcemain.  Crews will also begin the process of constructing the roadway for Roe Street. Info Session for Municipal Election Candidates Have you filed your nomination papers or are you considering running in the 2018 municipal election this fall?  Find out what you need to know at an upcoming candidate information session.   Lanark County municipalities (including the Town of Smiths Falls) are hosting two free information sessions for potential candidates.   These sessions will be beneficial to both new and experienced candidates.  Attendees will gain a better understanding of how municipal elections work and what to expect if elected.   Session 1 - Thursday, July 5, 2018 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Construction Update - June 8, 2018 Carambeck Community Centre In the next few days crews will begin the process to install concrete curbs and a sidewalk in the newly established parking area.   On Wednesday June 13th, crews will begin the process of connecting the new large water service to the distribution system, in order to do this crews will be turning off water to the pool and adjacent properties.  Residents affected by the water shut off have been notified in writing.  Programming at the Pool will be cancelled on June 13th however the office will remain open for registrations. Lanark County Developing New Tourism Strategy The County of Lanark is pleased to announce it will be embarking on a two-year project to develop one of the key actions identified in the recently completed Economic Development Strategic Plan, a new Tourism Strategy.  Once completed, the tourism strategy will become a strategic document used to communicate and share information on the many tourism initiatives and partnership opportunities taking place in the County, and ensure a coordinated approach to maintaining the County’s tourism position in the marketplace.
