Together, Cavanagh Construction and the Town of Carleton Place would like to ask for your help in ensuring safe and efficient work zones. McNeely Avenue South of Hwy. 7
Residents may have noticed significant activity in the vicinity of McNeely Avenue south of Highway 7 recently. Tomlinson Construction has moved back onto the site and commenced work that started last fall on behalf of the Town of Carleton Place for the extension of McNeely Avenue. The Town is administering this contract on behalf of area developers for the installation of municipal water & sewer, curbs, lighting, roadway, and replacement of the existing trail.
It is important for residents to be informed that no parking will be permitted in the work area during the construction period. Access to businesses in the vicinity of the project will be continuous.
This project, along with on-going site servicing of Cardel’s Miller’s Crossing Subdivision and a new sanitary sewer pumping station being constructed, adjacent to RONA’s property is making for an extremely busy construction zone in the southeast quadrant of Carleton Place. As a result of this increase activity signalized traffic lights will be reactivated on McNeely Avenue at the entrance to Home Depot and the Collonande Development in the near future.
The Town of Carleton Place will be releasing these weekly updates to keep residents informed of construction activities on the various streets and updates will be posted each Friday on the Town’s website and Town social media networks. We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during the construction season, however, should a member of the public have any concerns or questions, please contact the Public Works Office (613-257-2253).
