Treasurer Trisa McConkey received authorization from Council during last night's Committee of the Whole meeting to present the draft 2024 Water and Sewer budget to the public for comment at the October 17th Committee of the Whole meeting. The draft budget requires a 1.95% increase to water and sewer rates.

The proposed 1.95% increase to water and sewer rates will result in a total charge of $1,010.32 per year for a residential property with one (1) or two (2) people, an increase of $19.36 per year ($1.61 per month) over 2023 rates.

The public will have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed rate increase until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 27th, 2023. The presentation will be available on the Town’s website starting October 18th at www.carletonplace.ca. The final decision on the proposed rate increase will be made by Council at its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.
