COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

This evening’s Council meeting was relatively short as this was the first meeting back following the 2023 Holiday break. Agenda items from 2023 were approved prior to the break.

Delegations/Presentations

• Stephanie Gray, Coordinator for the Lanark County Situation Table, made a presentation to Council on the Lanark County Community Safety and Well-being Plan. The purpose of the plan is to examine assets in the community, assess gaps that exist, and develop strategies leading to the outcome of enhancing community safety and well-being for the residents of Lanark County and Smiths Falls. 

Dates of Significance

Mayor Randell noted the following dates of significance during this evening’s Council meeting:

• February – Black History Month
• February 13th – Wear Red Canada Day – Women’s Heart Health
• February 10th – Lunar New Year – Year of the Dragon
