Join Shaelyn Ryan, one of our summer staff, for an afternoon of historical research, writing, and discussion! Shaelyn is the author of three novels of historical fiction: all available in our gift shop.

Participants will browse the museum's collections and files for inspiration to get creative with local history and write their own original works of historical fiction. Through hands-on exploration and discussion, we will investigate the many meanings of historical fiction and what it can bring to our understanding of history.

Bring your favourite writing supplies and come prepared to explore some local history and create something new!

Workshop is $40 per person, $30 for museum members, and will take place at the museum. Light refreshments will be available.
