Lunar New Year Proclamation

WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place recognize the cultural diversity that enriches our community; and

WHEREAS the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a time-honored tradition celebrated by various Asian cultures, marking the beginning of the lunar calendar; and

WHEREAS this year, the Lunar New Year falls on Saturday, February 10, 2024, heralding the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac, symbolizing power, good fortune, and intense energy;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town of Carleton Place acknowledges and celebrates the Lunar New Year, embracing the traditions of our Asian community and extending our heartfelt wishes for prosperity, good health, and happiness in the year of the Dragon.
