TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Carleton Place passed By-law 63-2023 on the 20th day of June, 2023, under Section 21 of the Planning Act, to adopt Amendment No. 08 (OPA-02-2021) to the Town of Carleton Place Official Plan.
AND TAKE NOTICE that the County of Lanark is the Approval Authority for Official Plan Amendment OPA-02-2022. The Official Plan Amendment and supporting documentation have been submitted to the County of Lanark for approval.
Any person or public body is entitled to receive notice of the decision of the Approval Authority regarding the Official Plan Amendment, if a written request to be notified of the decision (including the person’s or public body’s address, fax number or email address) is made to the Approval Authority at the following address:

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF AMENDMENT:
The intent of the amendment is to adopt the new population projections assigned by the County of Lanark, perform a consistency and conformity review of updated legislation, and to undertake an amendment to five specific policy sections:
1) Policies 3.1 and 3.2 – Mississippi District
2) Policy 3.3 – Highway District
3) Policy 2.5 – Residential District
4) Policy 4.1 – Green Infrastructure
5) Policy 6.21.1 – Affordable Housing
Changes to Schedules A and B of the Official Plan are also proposed to reflect the policy changes referenced above.
PROPERTY(IES) IMPACTED BY AMENDMENT:
The amendment is general in nature and will impact all properties within the Town of Carleton Place.
