Construction Update – September 12th, 2024

The Public Works Department is anticipating the following construction activities next week. Please keep in mind the supply of materials, availability of staff and weather can adversely impact the proposed schedule.

Library & Moore House Parking Lots
Residents should be aware the parking lots will have base course asphalt applied next week, and the top lift of asphalt is expected the following week. The lines will also need to be painted prior to reopening the lots. The Town appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding while crews try to complete the lots in a timely manner. Please follow CP Scoop for announcements for when the lots will be reopened.

Lemaistre, Blair, and Judson Streets
Where needed, crews will be removing and reinstating damaged sections of the concrete curbs and sidewalks.

Alexander Street
Crews will be laying base course asphalt next week. Crews will then adjust the iron structures in preparation for the top lift of asphalt.

Nelson Street West
Crews will be removing and replacing damaged sections of concrete curbs and sidewalks in the coming days. Crews will also be installing the new sidewalk along Nelson Street West next week. Residents will be advised by Cavanagh Construction staff when access to driveways will be limited.

Ramsay, St. Paul, Wilson, Donald Streets
The application of top lift asphalt is anticipated to occur next week.

The Town of Carleton Place would like to ensure everyone’s safety and encourage residents, when possible, to avoid these active construction areas. Residents must follow posted signage, and the directions provided by traffic control personnel when they are present. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of our projects, please call (613) 257-2253.
