The Carleton Place Recreation & Culture Department is pleased to offer a variety of programs and special events for residents of all ages and abilities. Below you will find the current programs that are being offered by the Department and their locations. Carambeck Community Centre Programming

Infant Feeding Clinic: Every Wednesday: pre-registration is required.

Indoor Walking: Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-2pm.  There is no fee for this program.

Drop-In Basketball: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00pm – 3:15pm. There is no fee for this program, all are welcome. 

*Carambeck Community Centre programs typically run from October to the end of March (weather dependent).

Winterfest

We invite you to join us at Winterfest on November 23rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in Downtown Carleton Place and the Market Square Pavilion at 7 Beckwith Ave. 
Winterfest is a free, family-friendly event for all ages to kick off the Holiday season. Get together and mingle in our beautiful downtown dining and shopping district and embrace the wintry weather and holiday spirit. Enjoy roaming carolers and entertainers, free horse-drawn wagon rides, and a Night Market with sidewalk sales and a local vendor market.

Market Square will be an ideal place to begin or end your adventures in downtown Carleton Place as it will be the place to find and enjoy entertainment for all ages! Visit the Rona warming station for a comfy seat and a place to mingle, grab a delicious meal or snack with our on-site vendors, and get ready for some great live entertainment including: 

4:00p.m: This event kicks off with Ottawa’s own: Monkey Rock Music.  This one-hour interactive show is suitable for children of all ages and participants will be invited to join the band!

5:15p.m. – 6:30p.m: Join local performer Skyler Radmore for a variety of hits that will keep you tapping your toes and singing along. 

6:30p.m. – 8:00p.m: Carleton Places’ very own Small Town Socials turns up the party at 6:30 p.m. If you have seen this band live before, you know their upbeat personalities create a party atmosphere that will leave you no choice but to get up and dance. 

Enjoy the vibrant hometown atmosphere and bask in the warmth of the community as you peruse holiday displays, shop the holiday sales, enjoy delicious seasonal treats and warm drinks and plenty of fun and games. This event is proudly presented in collaboration with the Town of Carleton Place, Downtown Carleton Place BIA, and CP Tourism.


Carleton Place Santa Claus Parade – November 30th, 2025

Please join us in downtown Carleton Place on November 30th at 5:00 p.m. as we host our annual Santa Claus Parade!

Registration is now full for the 2024 Parade! 

Route:

The Santa Claus Parade will BEGIN at Carleton Place High School (215 Lake Avenue West) at 5:00p.m., travel up Lake Avenue, and turn left onto Bridge Street. The parade will then travel down Bridge Street, and end at the Carambeck Community Centre (351 Bridge Street.)

Food Bank Donations:

The Carleton Place and District Civitan Club will be walking the parade route and collecting non-perishable donations for the Lanark County Food Bank-The Hunger Stop, and monetary donations for the The Carleton Place Christmas Basket Program. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food donation and/or a monetary donation. We thank you in advance for your support!

Road Closures: Road closures will begin at 4:45p.m. This will be done to ensure all cars are off the parade route before the parade begins, and roads will reopen immediately after the parade concludes, which will be shortly after 6:30p.m.

-For residents who reside within the district of John Street, Hawthorne Ave, Frank Street, Charles Street, Victoria Street, Allan Street, Rear Street, and Emily Street: should residents need to enter or exit these neighbourhoods during the duration of the parade, they may enter/exit via College Street to Albert Street. Organizers will assist in pausing the parade to ensure vehicles can safely cross to get to their destination.
