The Carleton Place Arena has two ice surfaces, two program/event halls, and a boardroom. This facility is also home to many regular community groups & activities including: Ontario Early Years Playgroups, Bingo (weekly), and much more.
Arena programs typically start around Labour Day Monday and run until the end of March. Spring and Summer programming will be added at later dates.

Public Skating:
Mondays & Wednesdays: 7:00-7:50 pm
Saturdays & Sundays: 2:00 pm-2:50 pm
$2.00 per adult, $1.00 per child
Seniors Skating:
Mondays & Thursdays: 9:30am – 10:30am
No charge – please note Seniors Skating may be cancelled on holidays.
Parents & Tots Skating:
Mondays & Thursdays: 10:30 am – 11:20 am
No charge – please note Parents & Tots skating is cancelled on holidays and PA Days.
Pickup Hockey: Tuesdays & Thursdays: 11:30 am-1:00 pm
$5.00 per player. No charge for goalies.
For the safety and enjoyment of all patrons and skaters please respect the following Public Skating Rules.
The following items are not permitted on the ice surface:
- No food or drink permitted on the ice surface.
- No horseplay/games of any kind.
- No skating backwards.
- No figure skating manoeuvres.
- No erratic/excessive speed skating.
- No balls/pucks/chairs/pylons/strollers/sticks or any other item which might interfere with the safety of any skater while on the ice surface.
- Skate aids/ez-skates are not permitted.
- No headsets, cell phones or hand held electronic devices are to be used while skating.
- No carrying of children is to be permitted.
- No sitting on the boards or loitering.
- Skate with the direction of all skaters/no weaving in and out of other skaters.
- Centre of ice is reserved for beginner/inexperienced skaters only.
- Please respect, listen to and follow instructions from the arena staff at all times.
- Respect other skaters.
- Report all accidents or injuries to arena staff members immediately.
- All participants must wear skates on the ice surface.
- No unruly behaviour or profanity.
- Consider the use of a helmet as they are strongly recommended.
- Wheelchairs are permitted on the ice providing the wheels are cleaned before use & that the operator of the wheelchair is wearing ice skates. Please keep the wheelchair next to the boards away from skating traffic.
Penalties:
1st Offence: Removed from the ice for 15 minutes.
2nd Offence: Removed from the ice for the remaining skating time.
3rd Offence: Parents contacted and suspended from skating for 30 days.
4th Offence: Individual will be banned from public skating.

The Town of Carleton Place Proudly Welcomes Team Kazakhstan
With less than a week away from the arrival of Team Kazakhstan, staff are excited to share additional information for residents on how you can meet and see the team prior to the start of the IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa! Carleton Place was honoured to be chosen to be the host of Team Kazakhstan, who will be staying & training in Carleton Place from December 17th to the 22nd, 2024, before travelling to Ottawa to compete! Here are some ways that residents can get involved in the fun:
Welcome To Carleton Place Colouring Sheets:
Families are welcome to download and print out a colouring sheet, or pick one up at the Carleton Place Arena (75 Neelin Street) or Carambeck Community Centre (351 Bridge Street) and return it to the Arena by Monday, December 16th to be included in our “Welcome to Carleton Place” mural for the team! Colouring sheets will be available for the remainder of the week for those who want to participate and keep them for signatures!
Practice Times – Open to Residents:
Residents are welcome to head to the Carleton Place Arena (75 Neelin Street) to watch Team Kazakhstan practice! The team will be practicing on Arena #2 on the following days & times:
Tuesday, December 17th: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, December 18th: 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon
Thursday, December 19th: 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
Friday, December 20th: 12 noon – 1:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 21st: 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
A friendly reminder that cheering is welcome, but excessive noise will be a distraction and therefore not appreciated.
Carleton Place Jr A Canadians Meet & Greet Night:
Residents are invited to meet the Kazakhstan team in the Carleton Place Arena lobby prior to the Carleton Place Jr A Canadians game on Friday, December 20th, 2024. The team will be in the lobby from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and will be doing a ceremonial puck drop at 7:30 p.m.
Sign the Carleton Place Flag:
Residents are invited to visit the Carleton Place Arena lobby between December 17th and 21st to sign a Town of Carleton Place flag, which we will send with Team Kazakhstan to remember their time in Carleton Place!
Team Send-Off
We invite residents to join us outside of the Carleton Place Arena as we send the team off with well wishes as they begin their IIHF World Junior Tournament. Please join us at 11:15 a.m. as the team is anticipated to depart at 11:30 a.m.
