WHEREAS a circular economy is a way of designing, producing, and consuming that reduces waste and makes the most of the resources we have. It encourages us to rethink our systems and economies so that human activity supports the health of natural systems. A circular economy challenges us to take less, to use better, and to make sure our economies and our choices support the natural environment that we rely on.
AND WHEREAS communities, businesses, organizations, and individuals all play an essential role in promoting waste reduction and the move towards a circular economy. Transitioning to a circular economy will help to build a resilient, green, and prosperous future for Carleton Place residents and businesses.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Toby Randell, on behalf of the Council of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim October 2024 as “Circular Economy Month” in the Town of Carleton Place
