October 20 to 26, 2024
Whereas October is Canadian Library Month, and during this month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in the lives of people in Canada; and
Whereas Public Libraries promote cultural awareness, engage in the community, provide educational programs, support freedom of expression and so much more.
Whereas the Carleton Place Public Library serves as a hub for community connection and lifelong learning; and
Whereas the Board, Staff, and Volunteers of the Carleton Place Public Library provide a vital community service; and
Whereas Ontario Public Library Week takes place from October 20 to October 26 and the theme is “Libraries for Life”
Now Therefore, I, Mayor Toby Randell, on behalf of Council, do hereby proclaim October 20 to 26, 2024 as “Ontario Public Library Week” in the Town of Carleton Place.
