The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Nelson Street West
Despite the extreme temperatures this week, crews made progress on the removal of asphalt along Nelson Street West. Next week, crews will complete the asphalt and concrete curb removal process. Crews will then begin excavating and replacing the granular base. Residents impacted by the watermain replacement will have their temporary overland water supply installed next week as well.
Ramsay Street
Residents of Ramsay Street should be aware Cavanagh Construction will be mobilizing equipment and begin asphalt removals later next week.
For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and Thomas Cavanagh Construction Ltd. would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you cannot avoid these areas, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of our projects, please do not hesitate to call Public Works at (613) 257-2253.
