The Public Works Department will be providing regular updates regarding our municipal construction activities. Residents can visit the Town’s website for detailed information regarding the list and scope of each of our projects for this year’s construction season.
Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Nelson Street West
Thomas Cavanagh Ltd. has made advancements this week with road excavations and the placement of granular materials. The temporary watermain has been installed and is scheduled to be commissioned next week. Crews will also begin removing the existing watermain.
Ramsay Street
Crews will be mobilizing onto Ramsay Street in the coming days and will begin asphalt removals. A new catch basin will be installed and the lead will be connected to the Townline Road storm sewer which will require lane reductions on Townline Road on Wednesday, July 3rd, and Thursday, July 4th. Traffic control staff will be in place and residents will need to follow their directions.
The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact construction schedules.
For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and Thomas Cavanagh Construction Ltd. would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you cannot avoid these areas, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of our projects, please do not hesitate to call Public Works at (613) 257-2253
