Cost: $170.50 for residents of Carleton Place/Beckwith; $263.25 for non-contributing areas.
Bronze Medallion prerequisites: must be 13 years old or have completed Bronze Star.
New Lifesaving Society requirement: Basic First Aid is mandatory for anyone taking Bronze Medallion. It’s attached to the first two Sundays of the program: September 13, 2026 (12:00–4:00 p.m.) and September 20, 2026 (12:00–4:00 p.m.).
Bronze Cross prerequisites: must be 14 years old and have completed Bronze Medallion.
Canadian Lifesaving Manual: $80.00.
100% attendance is required for the Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross program.

Private Lesson Registration Procedure
The next registration day for private lessons is August 17.
Private lessons are available weeknights and weekends; spots are limited. Cost: $45.75 per 30-minute lesson for residents of Carleton Place/Beckwith, $70.75 per 30-minute lesson for non-contributing areas.

Pool Admission and Supervision Policy for Scheduled Swims
- Children under 6 must stay within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian at all times, including in the hot pool (maximum 2 children per parent/guardian). The caregiver must be at least 14 and a competent swimmer.
- Children 10 or younger who are non-swimmers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 14 years old, responsible for their direct supervision within arm’s reach in the pool (maximum 4 children per parent/guardian).
- Children 10 or younger who are swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 metres, and a parent or guardian must remain in the facility.
- Swim tests may be required — the supervisor on duty can request one from anyone attending these swims.
Swim Fees
Annual swim passes expire December 31. Multi-visit passes do not expire. Resident rates apply only if property taxes are paid to the Town of Carleton Place or Beckwith Township. Children under 2 swim free.

Pool Admission / Supervision Policy
- Children under 6 must stay within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian (maximum 2 children per parent or guardian).
- Children under 10 who are non-swimmers or weak swimmers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 14 years old, responsible for their direct supervision (maximum 4 children per parent/guardian).
- Children under 10 who are swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 metres, and a parent or guardian must remain in the facility. A swim test is required.
- Children 6 and older must use the appropriate gender-specific changeroom.
Centennial, Riverside Beach, and Splash Pad
The Town has two municipal beaches: one at Riverside Park (175 John Street) and one at Centennial Park (169 Joseph Street). Both beaches are now closed for the 2026 season.
Washrooms at Riverside Park Beach are open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. until September 30.
Water quality is tested weekly by the South East Health Unit.
The Town maintains four public splash pads, open from the May long weekend to October each year (weather permitting). All splash pads run seven days a week on a timer, turning on as early as 9:00 a.m. and shutting off automatically at 8:30 p.m.
