The Town of Carleton Place would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Water Treatment Plant & Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansions
Work is continuing on the construction of the wet well for the new headworks building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, along with rock excavation and blasting for the new buildings and pipe trenches. At the Water Treatment Plant, the new forcemains have been completed and new watermains are in the process of being installed.
Captain A. Roy Brown Extension and McEachen Drive Construction
Crews are on site installing the box culverts. Crews are also working towards completing the road construction and installation of utilities.
Findlay Avenue Pumping Station
The new building has been installed and work inside the building has begun. The forcemain will be connected.
Industrial Avenue Pumping Station
Work continues on the new building and the installation of the internal components in the new wet well.
Princess Street Pumping Station
Work continues on the control panels within the existing building. The pads for the generator and gas meter will be poured now that the electrical conduits have been installed. For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and its contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day. Should you have any questions about any of our projects, please reach out to the Public Works Office at (613) 257-2253.
