WHEREAS the theme for National AccessAbility Week 2026 is “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada“, emphasizing collective efforts to create a barrier-free Canada; and
WHEREAS National AccessAbility Week is an opportunity to recognize and promote the inclusion and contributions of persons with disabilities in our community; and
WHEREAS accessibility is a fundamental right that ensures equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of ability; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place is committed to fostering an inclusive community by removing barriers and enhancing accessibility for all;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim May 31 to June 6, 2026, as National AccessAbility Week in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to support efforts to make our community more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
