The Town of Carleton Place would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Water Treatment Plant Expansion & Wastewater Treatment Plant
Crews will continue with drilling and blasting operations at both sites for rock removal. In an effort to remain on schedule for the construction of the new Membrane Bioreactor Treatment building (located on the site of our former Compost Yard), crews will be working throughout the day on Saturday, September 27th, 2025. We acknowledge this may not be ideal for residents nearby; however, it is necessary to keep the project on schedule while we have favourable weather conditions.
Captain A Roy Brown Extension and McEachen Drive Construction
Crews have mobilized to begin installation of the storm sewer and catch basins, which will be followed by the watermain installation.
Charles Street
Crews will be applying and grading granular material in preparation for paving operations and iron adjustments.
St. Paul Street
Crews will be applying and grading granular material in preparation for paving operations and iron adjustments.
Findlay Pump Station
Over the next week, crews will be pouring the buoyancy ring on the wet well and the building footing.
Industrial Pumping Station
Crews will be working on the building footing and reinstating the ditch on Industrial Avenue.
Princess Street Pumping Station
Crews will be pouring the buoyancy ring for the new wet well and backfilling the excavation.
For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and its contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage.
